Janey Newton, one of the owners of Foxhollow Farm, is spearheading the family’s commitment to convert their 1300 acre tract of land into a biodynamic farming community.
Janey is one of the co-founders of the Waldorf School of Louisville, and is dedicated to bringing healthy local food along with the methods of biodynamic agriculture to the Louisville community. Maggie Barrett, a fourth generation owner of Foxhollow Farm, brings her talents in marketing and business development to the project.
She is a recent graduate of the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University and is enthusiastic about sharing our healthy and delicious grass fed beef with the local community. We are thrilled to have her join us. Steve Rutledge serves as General manager for Foxhollow Farm. He oversees all aspects of the farm; from the stewardship of the land, to the management of our grass fed beef operation.
Steve has been responsible for the overall care of the land at Foxhollow for more than 26 years. His dedication and expertise are vital to the success of our mission.
Dana Edlin is the office manager for the Foxhollow Farm operation. She coordinates the day to day tasks so that our farmers can focus on the farming and our customers receive excellent service. Her communication and organizational skills keep us all on track. Valerie Magnuson, (baby Sophia), and Pavel Olvechkin operate the Vegetable CSA at Foxhollow Farm.
From the end of May until early November, Valerie and Pavel grow delicious vegetables using organic and biodynamic gardening methods. Subscribers to the CSA enjoy a full box of freshly picked vegetables each week. We are all enjoying the fruits of their labor! John Smith (left) brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Foxhollow Farm. As a long time farmer and graduate of the UK college of Agriculture, John helps us to raise the cattle, manage the pastures, and operate & repair the farm equipment. We are fortunate to have John on our team.
George Seay joined the Foxhollow team as a farmer and a student of biodynamic agriculture. Along with his work with our grass fed beef operation, he coordinates the use of biodynamic farming practices throughout the farm. We appreciate George’s enthusiastic commitment to the mission of Foxhollow. Ernie Brown Jr. (left) Ernie Brown Sr. and Jerry Tipton (center) participate in most every aspect of the work at Foxhollow Farm. Mowing and planting the fields, mending the fences, maintaining and repairing equipment, and putting up hay for the winter are just a few of the responsibilities to which these important members of the Foxhollow team attend. We are grateful for their support. |
