The Foxhollow Farm community is a growing group of individuals and families commited to building a sustainable and Biodynamic Farm Community.
We take great pride in our farming practices and hope to spread the word about where food comes from and how to support local farms!
We encourage you to come on out to the farm and see all the beauty. Stop by our store, take a walk, pick a green bean or two, get a breath of fresh air and reconected with nature.
Janey Newton
one of the owners of Foxhollow Farm, is spearheading the family’s commitment to convert their 1300 acre tract of land into a biodynamic farming community. Janey is one of the co-founders of the Waldorf School of Louisville, and is dedicated to bringing healthy local food along with the methods of Biodynamic Agriculture to the Louisville Community.
Janey’s latest project on the farm has been to establish a not-for-profit education and conference center, The Foxhollow Farm Center, which helps people reconnect with the wisdom of nature by offering earth friendly gardening, farming, and cooking classes.
Maggie Barrett
a fourth generation owner of Foxhollow Farm, brings her talents of marketing and business development to the project.
She is a recent graduate of the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University and is enthusiastic about sharing our healthy and delicious Grass Fed Beef with the local community.
Maggie also started our Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch, and is developing and leading our community outreach programs.
Laura Riccardi
leads the Biodynamic program at Foxhollow Farm. She makes the Biodynamic preparations for our farm and for other farms and gardens in the region, with the help of local practitioners and individuals wishing to learn about prep making. Laura prepares the preparations for spraying and applies them throughout the year to the pastures and hayfields.
She is helping guide Foxhollow towards becoming a Biodynamic farm organism.
David Ragsdale
is our head cattle farmer and is in charge of our hay production and pasture management. He has been working with cattle ever since he was old enough to get in a pick-up truck and has cared for his own cattle for over 35 years.
David has been working with our cow/calf operation and the genetics of our animals to come up with the best possible 3 bread rotational cross, including Black Angus and Tarentaise cattle.
Valerie Magnuson and Pavel Olvechkin
operate the vegetable CSA at Foxhollow Farm. From the end of May to early November, Valerie and Pavel grow delicious vegetables using organic and Biodynamic gardening methods. Subscribers to the CSA enjoy a full box of freshly picked vegetables each week. We are all enjoying the fruits of their labor!
Angie Brown
manages the leasing and events program at the Foxhollow Farm Center. We lease the center out for weddings, receptions, retreats, and educational workshops and conferences.
Angie also coordinates the center’s seasonal celebrations, potlucks, and movie nights.
Todd Carter
is in charge of our wildlife preservation program, including 15 acres of wildflowers and 15 acres of wildlife plots. He has been bow hunting on this land for over 16 years and has gotten to know this land quite well. Todd also is our on-site handyman/construction man.
PLM
Professional Land Management (PLM), has been managing and working with this land since 1985. PLM also manages over 15 other farms around Oldham and Jefferson County.
Steve Rutledge is the founder, owner and operator of PLM and thanks to Dana Edlin, Ally Rutledge, John Smith, John Tipton, Ernie Brown, and Jerry Tipton this farm runs smoothly and efficiently.
